## Anaconda Python In order to build the Python bindings, it is important to use the same compiler that your Python interpreter was built with. This is sometimes easier said than done. You may prefer to use an all-in-one Python Distribution, we have tested Akvo with Anaconda Python:

  • Install Anaconda Python which is available for Linux, Mac OSX, and Windows. Make sure you grab the Python 3 installer.
  • From the Anaconda Navigator, set up a new Environment that contains Python 3.
  • Configure your Anaconda Environment, to do this, open up an Anaconda Terminal (Command Line) and type
conda install -c anaconda cmake git

Install the MSVC Build Tools which are consistent with your version of Python. A free version is available for most users:

Note that this guide assumes the use of the command line tools (CLI) only, although it is also possible to use the MSVC IDE as well.

Depending on the version of Python you are working with install the vs20xx_win-64 package in Anaconda. Most likely this will be one of these:

  • vs2015_win-64
  • vs2017_win-64 package

Then configure Lemma, be sure to specify the version of Visual studio you have installed, e.g.

cmake ..\Lemma -G "Visual Studio 15 2017 Win64"
msbuild Lemma.sln /p:configuration=Release
devenv /build Release Lemma.sln
cmake --build . --target install --config Release
